Maker Field Trip! Get your hands a little dirty welding.

We will be taking a couple cars down to Federal Way to a metal fabrication shop. We will take a crack at welding, possibly aluminum (if there is interest). We'll try out the plasma cutter and torch as well. You will NOT be an expert welder after this but I suspect you'd have a decent idea and a kickstart into practicing if you picked up a welder for your home shop. If you have a car that holds 4 people please contact me. I'll drive a couple people down but two other people need to volunteer to drive.

The shop is generally not heated, wear the appropriate clothing.

Most of our registration fee will go to pay for consumables and shop time. Please pre-pay or bring Cash.

Do: Bring safety gear if you have it. Wear long sleeve clothes and jeans. Wear clothes you don't mind ruining, while not likely it's very possible. Bring a piece of scrap if you want something specific to practice on.

Do NOTs: expect to be able to work on a project, bring something big, be rude.. this is family. Show up in fancy tennis shoes and a tshirt.
