This is an introductory workshop with lab for installation and removal of surface mount components on FR4 printed circuit board. Please bring your own safety equipment.

In this lab you will learn the basics of home-brew reflow techniques; we will not be reviewing industrial techniques.

After discussing methods we will have a lab in which you will do some hands-on work.

We have some components and el-cheap boards you can practice on but you can also opt to purchase a kit elsewhere and bring it. We recommend smaller projects like: the Spark Fun Simon Says kit. If my order from Oshpark in time I’ll also have a ATTIny85 PCB w/ processor you can build and take home; if they don’t show up in time you can always pick one up from me later.
