This is a multi-workshop event.
10:00AM - 11:00AM
Intros / show and tell. I would love to see the project you are working on and what your plan is with lighting it up.
11:00 AM - 12:30PM:
We will go over basic LEDs and how to wire and power them.
We will also go over how to find the parts you need.
1:00PM - 2:30PM:
LED strips - how to power them,, how to control them,, where to get them
3:00PM - 5:30PM:
Digital LED control - We will go over how to use a microcontroller (A microchip) to control your basic LEDs and your LED strips.
6:00PM - 9:00PM:
Neopixels - Addressable RGB LEDs. NeoPixels come in strips,, individual LEDs and sheets. They can make your cosplay come alive. We will go over how to control them with a microcontroller,, how to install them and how to repair them. We will also discuss places to get them and how to get custom strips.
For the 3:00PM and 6:00PM class,, I will have extra controllers for people to try / experiment with. You will need to bring your laptop with Arduino software from Arduino.cc
The goal of this event is to help people understand how to add lights to their cosplay and show how simple it is.
Cost:
$120 for Non Members
$90 for Members of SnoCo Makerspace
There is a lot of food in the area. We have a microwave and a fridge.
Payment will get you access to all 4 workshops. You can pick and choose which ones you will attend. Cash at the door is fine if there is space.
